Crystal Baptiste is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) for both the state of Maryland and Washington, D.C. she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling at Charlotte Christian and Theological Seminary located in Charlotte, N.C. She later completed a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Liberty University located in Lynchburg, VA. She subscribes to the belief that holistic mental health is an integration of spirituality (not religion) and effective therapeutic methodologies.
After more than 20 years of experience as a hairstylist and an entrepreneur salon owner, she decided to reinvent herself as a mental health professional. Being an agent of change, with the ability to empower, create and facilitate transformation in the hair care industry made it possible to provide the same attributes in the mental health profession. The salon environment created an organic setting to teach active listening skills, empathy, open communication with verbal and non-verbal cues, rapport building, trust building, and professionalism. Having a passion for serving and aiding others in becoming the best version of themselves, is the “why” behind the ‘’what” and the reason for choosing Professional Counseling or allowing professional counseling to choose her.
Her preference is to work with a therapeutic perspective honing an approach that supports the whole person while meeting their direct needs. The focus is to place emphasis on meeting the client where they are at the present time and ushering them to the destination of where they would like to be. She has experience working with individuals, couples, families, groups: including divorce, vocational, grief, parenting, and children. At MindFlower Crystal Baptiste will provide supervised counseling and therapy services.
Tonya Wagoner, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Maryland. She has extensive experience in assisting clients with a range of issues, including stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship challenges, as well as trauma and abuse. She is committed to creating an open and safe environment where her clients can freely share their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. She recognizes that it takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life, and to take the initial steps toward making a change. She is here to support and empower her clients on their journey toward well-being.
