We offer services in DC, NC and will in VA, MD and TX.
Our licensed providers use evidence-based approaches. They listen to you and work with you as an individual. They offer visits via telehealth. You can receive teleheath wherever you feel comfortable and safe.

Dr. Prechelle Shannon, D.C.J., L.P.C., M.A.C., C.C.T.P. serves as Chief Wellness Officer for MindFlower Group. Dr. Prechelle Shannon is an accomplished mental health professional with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of mental health and criminal justice. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Dr. Shannon has devoted her career to empowering system-impacted individuals and communities. A passionate advocate for restorative justice, Dr. Shannon builds coalitions that elevate the voices of survivors and promote healing and accountability for victims on both sides of the crime dynamic. Her work focuses on improving conditions of confinement, promoting gender-responsive housing and classification, strengthening reentry planning, and embedding trauma-informed care within institutional and community systems.
Demonstrating her commitment to equitable mental health and recovery care, Dr. Shannon contributes to the NAADAC Critical Issues in the Black Community (CIBC) initiative, partnering with addiction professionals across the country to address systemic barriers in behavioral health and recovery services. Her work centers on advancing culturally responsive treatment models and ensuring that communities of color have access to healing pathways that honor their cultural values and lived experiences. Driven by a lifelong commitment to systemic justice reform, Dr. Shannon was appointed in 2023 by Mayor Bowser to the D.C. Corrections Information Council (CIC). In this role, she works to improve conditions across correctional facilities and champions accountability, transparency, and humane treatment for all. Her commitment to elevating the voices of impacted individuals and communities ensures that their stories and lived experiences remain at the heart of the movement toward safer, more equitable, and compassionate systems of justice.
Dr. Shannon proudly serves as the Chief Wellness Officer of the Mindflower Group, championing structurally competent, culturally responsive, and holistic mental health services for under-resourced communities in Washington, D.C., and beyond.

Dr. Kevin Washington (Mwata Kairi) PhD, serves as an Affiliate Advisor. Dr. Washington is a Past President of the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPA) and has taught/lectured at several colleges nationally and internationally as well as consulted for Taraji Henson's BLH Foundation, Essence, NBCUniversal/BEN, Roland Martin, National Alliance to End Homelessness, and many other national and international organizations. He is currently an Associate Professor and Head of Sociology and Psychology at Grambling State University and National Program Director of Black Marriage Day. As a Fulbright-Hays scholar he researched the impact of socializing institutions on the healing or restructuring of post-apartheid South Africa (Azania). It was in South Africa where he researched Ubuntu and how it can inform mental health service delivery to people of African ancestry and others. Much of his work focuses on healing the psycho-spiritual wounds that are present within people as a result of Cultural and Historical Trauma. He continues to develop healing paradigms for persons of African ancestry who have been impacted by Persistent Enslavement Systemic Trauma (PEST). He advances culturally-relevant trauma informed care and interventions to be utilized by psychotherapists, that are culturally inclusive and particularized to the healing of Black and brown people. Through his research and writing he seeks to assist people to live life with power, purpose and passion. He graduated from Grambling State University with a BA in Psychology as well as from Texas A&M University with a MS in Educational Psychology and a PhD in Counseling Psychology. He is an African-Centered psychologist licensed in Florida and Washington, DC and is the originator of Ubuntu Psychotherapy.
